“We really loved Old Lanta Town and one of the highlights was meeting Graeme and Pla and having a feed/beer with them on their balcony over the sea. We’ve decided it’s “the best roast on the coast!” and we’re spreading the word amongst the yachties. Their hospitality is very easy to take. Another “must see” is the “Indiana Jones” cave on Ko Talabeng, which we named so because of the rope climb up to its entrance!”

To all yachts in the Lanta area. Lanta Old Town is one of the best small towns to visit in the Phuket area. It is quaint, friendly and very picturesque. Sunday has a good market on the waterfront with great food available. We left our boat on the Lanta Marine Services moorings during the South West monsoon when we travelled overland to Northern Thailand and found the service to be excellent. It is a good option to xpensive marinas and check out and in at Krabi is easy. It is not necessary to take the boat to Krabi as Lanta Marine Services will organize a local bus to Krabi.

Lanta Old town, a great place to stop by boat or by land, friendly locals, a unique side of Thailand and lots to see and explore. Orange House a home from home, superb hospitality, delicious good old English grub or Thai food. We will be back again soon.

I was so impressed with the hospitality and food served at Orange House that I’ve decided to move in permenantly! Now I can look at my boat whenever I want as she sits on  her mooring in the tranquil waters off Old Town.
